Cirrhosis of the liver is a disease that can not manifest symptoms for a long time, but actively develop. Thus, in the early stages of this disease, many people are not even aware of it.

The following factors can cause liver problems:

  • excessive alcohol abuse;
  • malnutrition, filled with carcinogens and other harmful substances (lots of fried foods, canned food, acidic foods, coffee drinks);
  • improper treatment of other diseases (for example, some drugs for the treatment of bowel diseases negatively affect the health of the liver).

To aggravate the condition of this important organ can early removal of the gallbladder. The fact is that the liver in this case simply can not cope with the excretion of bile. It accumulates in the liver ducts, poisoning it.

Stages of cirrhosis and nutrition

As a result of these factors, cirrhosis can develop. But this is the last stage of the disease. First, the liver appreciably increases in size and is covered with a layer of fat. After that, scars develop on it, and when there are too many of them, it is called cirrhosis. With this stage, ascites of the liver, accumulation of fluid in it can develop.

All periods of the disease are accompanied by a lack or complete absence of protein in the daily diet. But this does not mean that you should immediately start eating a lot of protein foods. Enter it should be neat and gradual.

To reduce the risk of developing liver diseases and the acute phase of an already existing disease, a special therapeutic diet is prescribed. It completely excludes products that adversely affect the functioning of the liver and gallbladder.

When preparing dishes for the diet number 5, mechanical sparing is not taken into account, that is, dishes that have been cleaned are not used. But the role of the type and method of heat treatment is very great! It is necessary to limit the consumption of animal fats as much as possible, and especially the products of their decomposition during heat treatment.

In small quantities, butter and vegetable oil is used, but not processed. This means you can add a spoonful of butter to a plate with a warm porridge or a spoonful of vegetable directly into a bowl of soup. These measures do not affect the quality and taste of food, but at times reduce the risk of exacerbation of liver and gallbladder disease.

Also, foods containing cholesterol and nitrogen extractives, glycosides and essential oils of vegetables are not recommended for consumption.
