Diet with food allergies

A food allergy is called a side reaction to a food product, which is based on immune mechanisms. Among many people with unusual reactions to food, some have a true food allergy, while in others these changes are not related to a disorder of the immune system, in which case it may be food intolerance.

The main method of treatment is the exclusion of foods that cause allergies or cross reactions from nutrition, provided that their significant role is clearly proven.

If it is not exactly established on which food product a person has an allergy, then it is transferred to food for a general nonspecific hypoallergenic diet.

Recommended products for food allegories:

  • lean meats;
  • dairy products;
  • various green vegetables, parsley and dill greens;
  • Boiled potatoes;
  • cereals;
  • white and red currants, light varieties of cherries and plums, green and yellow apples, pears;
  • Diluted juices from these fruits and berries;
  • Gherten oil, refined deodorized vegetable oil.

In order to reduce the allergenic properties of dishes used:

  • baking or boiling fruit;
  • soaking vegetables for 2-3 hours;
  • soaking potatoes and groats for 6-12 hours;
  • salt restriction up to 1-2 grams per day;
  • replacing sugar with fructose for sweetening dishes;
  • use of special children’s water.

When a specific allergen is determined, then a diet is developed with its exception (and the elimination of cross products, if necessary). If there is more than one food allergen, and several, they also constitute an individual diet.

Usually, the elimination of the food product causing allergies is sufficient for a complete cure. However, sometimes you still have to use medicines.

Diets with intolerance to various foods

If there is a food allergy, but it is not known exactly what is an allergen, then you will have to follow a very strict diet.

In no case can you eat: all red, sweet foods, honey, chocolate, nuts, citrus, strawberries, grapes, tomatoes, carrots, beets, mushrooms, fish dishes and seafood dishes, chicken and chicken eggs, whole cow milk.

Not recommended are also: bananas, kiwis, avocados, persimmons, pomegranates, celery, parsley, strong meat broths, sauerkraut, spices and even onions. All these products can not only cause an allergic reaction, but also contribute to the fact that the body will react to other, quite innocuous and familiar to him products.

Without fear, you can eat: porridge on the water (buckwheat, oatmeal, millet, rice, corn, with the exception of semolina), vegetables (cabbage, potatoes, zucchini, patissons, turnips), meat (beef, turkey, rabbit, lean pork), from fruits – sweet and sour apples with green peel, plums and pears. Rarely, but it happens that the patient is allergic to the product, “allowed” for everyone. After the examination, doctors usually extend the diet. But you can do this only after you have installed specific allergens.

It often happens that the allergy does not arise on the products themselves (milk, juices or cereals), but on the dyes and preservatives that make up their composition. In this case, it is difficult for a patient and a doctor to single out a specific product: whatever food the patient ate, he develops allergies. It is necessary to sit literally on cabbage and water. And the reason is that preservatives and dyes manufacturers can add to a variety of products.

One of the most famous and common of them is tartrazine. Tartrazine is often included in: ready-made pies and mixtures for preparing dough; ready-made confectionery products – gingerbread, gingerbread; pasta, not containing eggs; flakes; fried crisp potatoes (especially suspicious is the potato, which has a yellow-orange color); caramel, dragee, colorful marshmallow; bouillon cubes; instant soups; puddings, sorbet, lemonade and fruit drinks of factory production, cheese, mustard, yellow and green sweets, margarine, ice cream with fillers, smoked products.

Tartarsin in food dyes: metabisulphite, sodium glutomate, benzoic acid.
